Our History
1928 – Founding
Otto Körting founded the company in Hameln, thereby laying the foundations for what is now ok Gummiwerk. Initially, the company specialised in the manufacture of rubber sheets for the footwear industry. From the very beginning, the company’s work has been characterised by high quality standards and a deep understanding of customer requirements.
1930-1950 – Expansion
As the management team expanded, the company grew and established its first international business relationships – including in Sweden, Switzerland, Italy and Portugal. Despite difficult economic times, the company managed to continue developing steadily.
1950–1980 – Growth and Industrialisation
In the decades that followed, production was expanded and technical expertise further developed. ok Gummiwerk increasingly established itself as a reliable partner for industrial applications.
1987–2022 – Focus on Technical Applications
A generational change in the company’s management marks the start of a phase of strategic development. Product development increasingly focuses on demanding technical applications. Durable materials, defined material properties and cost-effective mass production take centre stage.
2023 – Looking to the Future
Dr. Muhammad Sallouh - A New Era
Dr Muhammad Sallouh takes over the helm at ok Gummiwerk, having previously served as managing director. Dr Sallouh upholds the company’s traditions whilst bringing with him a clear vision for the future. With a strong focus on innovation, sustainability and the company’s presence in the European market, he is implementing modern technologies such as automated production processes and energy-efficient machinery. He is also promoting sustainability initiatives and the use of environmentally friendly materials to ensure the company remains future-proof and competitive.
